2008 Feminist Scholarship Award Honoree: Ann Nichols-Casebolt

Ann Nichols-CaseboltAnn Nichols-Casebolt, interim dean of Virginia Commonwealth University has contributed to feminist scholarship through her work in social welfare policy and the integration of women's issues in social work curricula. She is an accomplished researcher in the areas of single mothers living in poverty, establishing paternity, and the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Federal Program.

 

2008 Feminist Scholarship Award Winner: Gretchen Cotrell

Gretchen CotrellGretchen Cotrell, associate professor of social work at Boise State University, is the 2008 Feminist Scholarship Award Winner. Cotrell’s paper titled Identity and Ancestry: Sticks & Stones & Buffalo Bones integrates a compelling personal narrative of ethnic identity development with strong discussions of historical and theoretical contexts framing the author’s experiences. The paper’s attention to the importance of identity research for members of First Nations populations was considered an exceptional contribution to the feminist knowledge base of professional social work.
