Diane Bernard, has contributed to feminist scholarship through her accomplishments as a social work educator. As a former commissioner on accreditation, she has shaped a standard for examining the inclusion of women faculty and was one of the founders of the Journal of Women and Social Work

Feminist Scholarship Award Winner: Moshoula Capous-Desyllas

2010 APM Feminist Scholarship Award Winner

Moshoula Capous-Desyllas, a recent doctoral graduate from Portland State University, is the 2010 Feminist Scholarship Award Winner for her paper entitled "Using Photovoice with Sex Workers as Art, Education, Empowerment, and Resistance." Her research interests include arts-based methodologies, community-based participatory research, commercial sex work, poverty, immigration, and culture. She teaches courses at Portland State University in anti-oppression, social justice, and diversity. Her passion lies in highlighting the voices of marginalized communities through the use of art as activism and empowerment.
