October 7, 2008 – PHILADELPHIA, PA—The Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE’s) 54th Annual Program Meeting will bring more than 3,000 social work educators, students, and practitioners together at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel from Thursday, October 30–Sunday, November 2.
This year’s Special Plenary Speaker is Jonathan Kozol, the renowned educational reformer and New York Times best-selling author of Savage Inequalities, Amazing Grace, The Shame of the Nation, and Letters to a Young Teacher. CSWE is also now a provider for social work continuing education through the Association of Social Work Boards’ Approved Continuing Education Program. More than 600 educational sessions within 38 key topic areas or “Tracks” will be eligible for continuing education units, doubling last year’s offerings.
