Associate Professor/Clinician Educator
Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice

"It was so nice to have a critical mass of social work professionals at the program. We obtained knowledge and skills that we can use in our respective programs. I have already shared with some colleagues the case approach to teaching and they are going to try this method in a more thoughtful way with their students as well as the use of small work group  throughout the semester. My school is undergoing a strategic planning process and I received valuable information and feedback on the process we are using. I have also gained a greater appreciation for  budgeting and finance as well as using other "frames " for addressing  challenges in my institution. In essence, the experience was both informative and transformative. I also have a renewed sense of commitment and energy for the work that I am doing."

Associate Dean

"The Harvard University Management Leadership program was an excellent use of my time. The emphasis on operating in an environment of change was particularly relevant during these economic times. The dual emphasis on individual and collective change was especially beneficial. Of course, the networking will yield benefits forever!"

"The most amazing part of my experience at the Harvard MDP was getting to hear from university presidents and upper administrators about their experiences on campus. I plan to use the insight and knowledge gained from this opportunity to further refine my leadership development in the coming years. "

Professor and Director, School of Social Work
University of North Carolina Wilmington

"I wanted to pass along the offer by those who attended the Harvard training, to present at APM about our experiences at the training. We wanted to give something back for the scholarship we received from CSWE to attend the training, and thought this might be a good avenue."

Dean, College of Social Work
University of South Carolina

"I have just returned from participating in the Harvard Institute of Higher Education Management Development Program, and I very much want to thank you for the scholarship you awarded me, which provided me with the resources to attend this superlative training. The program was excellent. It included valuable content on leadership frameworks, strategic planning, development, financial management, and human resources. Perhaps most importantly, it provided process and allowed time for reflective self-exploration and for connecting with the core of our professional mission within social work higher education. In total there were eight social work leaders at this training, and we were able to gather and discuss the applications of our learning to social work academia. We left the training committed to sharing our learning with colleagues in our field, and rededicated to social work higher education."
