Responsible Conduct of Research

Promoting Research Integrity in Social Work

In 2006, the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) through the American Association of Medical Colleges funded a CSWE project, Promoting Research Integrity in Social Work.* The project included a Responsible Conduct of Research Symposium, held at the CSWE Annual Program Meeting (APM) in February 2006, and a follow-up meeting at the CSWE offices that June.

The June meeting focused on the development of a National Statement on Research Integrity in Social Work (PDF) and Action Plan for integrating responsible conduct of research activities into CSWE. The National Statement can be viewed in PDF or html. Additionally, print copies of the National Statement and bundles for use in the classroom are available.

CSWE is committed to continuing to promote research integrity in social work. See the Action Plan for updates on CSWE's progress with the initiatives.  Resources for teaching responsible conduct of research, such as the new Case Studies document, will be added periodically. Contact Jessica Holmes for more information on this work.

* This project was supported under a cooperative agreement from the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) through the American Association of Medical Colleges (Grant number US2MPORI01).
