Gero-Ed Center Programs

The CSWE Gero-Ed Center prepares faculty and student leaders with the knowledge and skills to enhance the health and well-being of older adults and their families through the following programs:

Educational Policy Programs
Including projects on accreditation, workforce, textbook infusion, and the ASWB licensing exams.

BSW Experiential Learning (BEL) Program (2008–2012)
Recruiting undergraduates to field placements, MSW programs, and careers in gero social work through promoting experiential learning opportunities with older adults.

Specialized Gerontology (Spec Gero) Program (2009–2011)
Creating specialized aging curricular structures: minors, certificates, specializations, and concentrations.

Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) Program (2004–2011)
Infusing and sustaining gero competencies in BSW and MSW generalist curriculum.

Master's Advanced Curriculum (MAC) Project (2007–2010)
Enhancing three advanced MSW specialty areas – mental health, substance use, and health - with gero competencies.
