Gero-Ed Center Programs

The CSWE Gero-Ed Center prepares faculty and student leaders with the knowledge and skills to enhance the health and well-being of older adults and their families through the following programs:

• BSW Experiential Learning (BEL) Program - recruiting undergraduates to field placements, MSW programs, and careers in gero social work through promoting experiential learning opportunities with older adults.

• Curriculum Development Institute (CDI) Program - infusing and sustaining gero competencies in BSW and MSW generalist curriculum.

• Educational Policy Programs - including projects on Accreditation, Workforce, Textbook Infusion, and the ASWB Licensing Exams.

• Master's Advanced Curriculum (MAC) Project - enhancing three advanced MSW specialty areas – mental health, substance use, and health - with gero competencies.

• Specialized Gerontology (Spec Gero) Program - creating specialized aging curricular structures: minors, certificates, specializations, and concentrations.
