The CSWE Gero-Ed Center aims to influence policies that affect professional education and the eldercare workforce. Strategies include promoting a competency-based approach to curriculum that takes account of the demographic context and is congruent with the 2008 CSWE EPAS; consulting with textbook authors on gero infusion; disseminating workforce data; recruiting gero question writers for the ASWB exam; and advocating nationallly to shape health care reform and long-term care legislation.
