CSWE, through the Gero-Ed Center, is an active member of the national Eldercare Workforce Alliance, composed of 29 associations representing consumers, families, direct care workers, and health care professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
The Eldercare Workforce Alliance aims to improve quality of life for older adults and their families, address workforce shortages, and provide quality, culturally sensitive, person-directed, family-focused care. Believing that a strong eldercare workforce is central to real health care reform, the Alliance seeks to mobilize its constituencies to influence federal policies related to geriatric workforce development and care coordination. The Gero-Ed Center informs CSWE members of action alerts relevant to the geriatric workforce and long-term care.
