This Track addresses the current situation of Latinos/as in this country within a national and international perspective. It seeks to highlight the contributions and strengths of this population as well as the existing socioeconomic inequalities among its members. This Track addresses the relationship of social work practice/education to a range of issues, including (1) Latino contributions to the United States; (2) globalization and its impact on Latinos in this country and in Latin America; (3) issues of immigration; (4) differential access to work, health, education, and social services; (5) U.S.-Latin American relations and the impact on Latinos living in the Diaspora; (6) technology and its implications on Latinos; (7) innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that promote social inclusion of Latinos in all areas of society; (8) integration of Latino content into curricula; (9) Latino faculty in social work education; and (10) recruitment and retention of Latino students.
