Membership Requirements

Individuals are not required to be current CSWE members in order to submit a proposal. However, all accepted presenters must be either current CSWE individual members or be eligible for a waiver. The deadline to join or renew membership in CSWE is Friday, June 18, 2010. The primary presenter is responsible for ensuring compliance with this requirement for all presenters. Waivers are granted on a case by case basis using the following four criteria:

1. The presenter is a social work practitioner
2. Or a practitioner or an academician in another discipline (i.e., nursing)
3. Or an academician from outside the U.S.
4. Or a student enrolled in a degree program at the baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral level

All requests for waivers are to be submitted via the online submission system. Once your proposal has been submitted, CSWE will not accept any other requests for membership waivers. CSWE will contact those submitters who request a waiver via the online system and inform them of the outcome regarding the waiver request.
