The theme of the 54th Annual Program Meeting (APM) was Social Work Policy and Practice: Linking Theory, Methods, and Skills. The 2008 APM marked some important milestones for the Council on Social Work Education. Expanded professional development opportunities offered and increased outreach to strengthen and enhance social work educators’ work in public and private universities and colleges across the continuum.
CSWE became an Association of Social Work Boards Approved Continuing Education Provider and expanded its career-building sessions for students. The concept of the Social Work Leadership Institute was also introduced, which offered new promise to those seeking mentorship in order to advance among the ranks of social work leaders.
