Susan P. Milam specializes in organizational development and strategic planning. She was deputy commissioner for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services 2005-2009 and from 2000-2005 MyDocOnline director of marketing and business development, a Web-based messaging system for physicians. Milam also served as bureau chief of the Texas Medicaid Managed Care Program in 1999-2000, executive director of Austin Regional Independent Associates (an independent practice association of physicians) from 1996-1999, director of the Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department from 1989-1996, and director of marketing and development for Austin Regional Clinic from 1983-1989. She was an elementary school teacher and preschool director early in her career Milam was also an adjunct graduate social work professor at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her MSSW and doctorate in health policy.
