NASW Texas Chapter

Vicki Hansen has served as the executive director of the National Association of Social Workers’ Texas Chapter since 1998. A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Hansen has developed parent participation materials used in the largest public school system in Florida and coedited a book of national symposium proceedings concerning public child welfare reprofessionalization. She was the Texas Cancer Council project director to develop cancer prevention materials for low-income and underrepresented populations, a Texas Department of Health Strategic Health Partnership ombudsperson, and a participant for the Texas Governor’s Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Plan. Hansen also served as the project director for U.S. Department of Justice-funded project, Crime Victims: A Social Work Response. She is an adjunct social work faculty member at the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Texas State University and has been a field instructor for graduate and undergraduate students.
