Meredith Hanson is the director of Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service’s Doctoral Program. Hanson’s research and scholarship focuses on addictions, group work practice, evidence-based practice, and cross-national social work education. His publications include journal articles and book chapters on social work practice with substance abusers, motivational interviewing, cross-national education, evidence-based practice and social work with older substance abusers. Hanson is coeditor of Strength and Diversity in Social Work With Groups: Think Group. He served as project director for a Master's Advanced Curriculum Project Gero Innovations Grant of the CSWE Gero-Ed Center. He also is an evaluator for two SAMHSA-funded demonstration projects with St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers in New York City. Hanson teaches MSW-level clinical practice courses and substance abuse courses and a doctoral-level course on evidence-based practice.
