Griselda Flores—Panelist
Nix Specialty Hospital

Griselda Flores, fluent in both English and Spanish, is a first generation Mexican-American who has been exposed to both diverse and homogeneous professional environments. A behavioral social work practitioner, she currently cares for people of underrepresented groups at Nix Specialty Hospital. In her previous role as a residential consultant at Seton Home, Flores helped adolescent mothers proactively make positive long term changes to improve their quality of life. In these capacities, she has employed strategies to address cultural identity issues in order to meet clients where they are. Prior, she was a graduate research assistant for the University of Texas at Austin Center for Social Work Research. Flores also earned her MSSW from the University of Texas at Austin and has an LMSW.
