Sonia Kotecha—Panelist

Sonia Kotecha’s perspective as a second generation South Asian American brings valuable insight to this panel. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kotecha is experienced in direct service, supervising and empowering volunteers, and working alongside community leaders in their role as public servants and nonprofit managers. Kotecha has been employed in educational, government, social service and nonprofit organizational settings. Kotecha is currently employed with Court Appointed Special Advocates of Travis County, a nonprofit organization that supports volunteers in their role as Guardian ad litem for children in the abuse and neglect system. She received a MSW concentrating in political social work, from the University of Houston and a BA in sociology honors and African American studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
