Josephine P. Tittsworth, who is a post-operative male to female secondary transsexual lesbian, has an LMSW and is a doctoral student at the University of Houston. An experienced lobbyist in Austin Texas and Washington DC for transgender rights, she has numerous published articles on transgender issues and has spoken at numerous colleges, businesses, and organizations. Currently, she serves on many boards of directors and committees. Tittsworth is National Transgender Advocacy Coalition research chair; Parents and Families of Lesbians and Gays-Transgender Network west sector coordinator; NASW Texas Chapter’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Equity Committee chair; and a committee member on the National NASW GLBT Committee. A Vietnam Veteran, Tittsworth serves as a facilitator for a transgender youth support group at Montrose Counseling Center and is a program committee member for the developing GLBT Youth Homeless Shelter in Houston, Texas.
