Mark Rodgers, dean of Dominican University’s Graduate School of Social Work, is an international human trafficking issues expert and has given related training in Latvia, Estonia, Romania, and Ecuador. In 2004, he completed a 2-year project as the principal investigator of a U.S. Department of State grant to develop the first MSW program in Latvia, receiving the Latvian government’s Ministry of Education and Service Award. Rodgers is a member of the Partnership to Rescue Our Minors from Sexual Exploitation, a Chicago task force. The Governor of Illinois also invited him to join the Campaign to Rescue and Restore Victims of Human Trafficking, a collaborative effort with the US Department of Health and Human Services. Rodgers, who has a DSW, was named the 2006 Social Worker of the Year by the NASW Illinois Chapter for his international social work leadership
