Promoting Sustainability in Social Work
Sustainability includes three mutually dependent components: long-term environmental viability; economic sustainability (i.e. maintaining living standards over the long term), and social sustainability that promotes environmental, economic, and social justice, now and in future generations.
Areas of inquiry include the integration of human societies and the natural environment; creation of sustainable communities; effective interventions to support people, organizations, and global societies to adopt more sustainable policies and behavior; and assessment to identify effective interventions.
