Terms & Conditions for Library Subscriptions

The subscriber may use, access, and allow authorized users access to the electronic version of the Journal of Social Work Education (JSWE) provided that such access is via a secure server over which the subscriber has sufficient control to limit JSWE distribution.

Access to the online JSWE for subscribers is controlled through the use of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Subscribers are responsible for ensuring that the publisher has been supplied with a valid IP address.

The following are authorized users of the online JSWE:

  • Current (permanent or visiting) members of the academic, library, research, or equivalent staff of the subscriber at the site and students actively and currently undertaking a course at the site, who are subject to the subscriber’s normal terms and conditions for ensuring compliance with these terms
  • Physical visitors using public access terminals within the library at the site, although they will not be considered authorized users

Remote electronic access to and use of the online JSWE by other than authorized users is not permitted. Authorized users may distribute single copies of individual articles in print or electronic form to other authorized users within the institution for their personal use.

The subscriber may not use or permit authorized users to use the online JSWE for purposes of monetary reward by means of sale, resale, loan, hire, lease, or any other form of exploitation. The subscriber may store JSWE for purely archival purposes and may make such local electronic copies by means of caching (or mirrored storage) of all or part of the online JSWE material as are necessary solely to ensure efficient use by authorized users and not to make available to authorized users duplicate copies of the material. The subscriber may not otherwise store or permit authorized users to store the online JSWE on any medium, transfer, reproduce, modify, publish, or otherwise exploit this subscription. Neither the subscriber nor the authorized users may use any part of the online JSWE material for access by way of remote computer services beyond the site, with the sole exception of remote access by authorized users.

The electronic version of JSWE may not be used for interlibrary loan, but printed copies may be used for this purpose.

A subscription to the online JSWE grants the subscriber 1-year access to the current year and all archived material from JSWE. If the subscription lapses, the former subscriber retains access to volumes/years expressly paid for.

All rights not specifically granted to the subscriber are reserved to the Council on Social Work Education.
