On-Demand Mental Health Recovery Competencies in Social Work

On-demand Mental Health Recovery Competencies in Social Work

Event Introduction

CSWE is offering a series of free Web-based events to introduce social workers to the recovery model. Our second in a series of three recovery-related webinars focuses on the unique competencies that set recovery-oriented practice apart from other approaches (i.e., deficits-based, medical model). Participants will learn how to apply the strengths model to achieve recovery-oriented outcomes and explore ways to enhance their practice and teaching by collaborating with persons who have lived experience of psychiatric conditions. This virtual, interactive course is available to view on-demand and features Patrick Sullivan, professor of social work at Indiana University and Debbie Plotnick, senior director of state policy at Mental Health America.
