NEW THIS YEAR! The application cycles for all CSWE Commission and Council awards for the 2019 Annual Program Meeting (APM) will follow the same schedule.

Depending on the criteria, the awards may be open to CSWE members, nonmembers, or presenters at APM. Click on the links below to be directed to the description of each award.

Council on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (CSOGIE)

This award recognizes and honors an outstanding midcareer or senior social work scholar who has made significant and outstanding contributions to the field of social work through research or education in the topical areas that affect 2-QTPOC communities. Click here for more information.

Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice (CDSEJ)

This award honors the contributions of schools and departments of social work and social work students (BSW, MSW, PhD, or DSW) in advancing community partnership action. Community is broadly defined as a self-organized network of people with a common agenda, cause, or interest and is not limited by physical location. An invitation to apply is extended to all CSWE accredited social work programs and social work students. Click here for more information.

Council on the Role and Status of Women in Social Work Education (CORSW)

This award recognizes commnuity praxis that is shaped through the process of social work education and exemplifies the values of feminist leadership models in social work education. Click here for more information.

Council on Racial, Ethnic, and Cultural Diversity (CRECD)

This award recognizes doctoral students and junior faculty members with outstanding scholarship in the areas of racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity in social work education. Two awards will be given to doctoral students or junior faculty members (faculty members who have completed a doctorate within the last 7 years). Click here for more information.

Council on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (CSOGIE)

The award recognizes scholarship that contributes to knowledge about sexual orientation and gender identity and expression; the individual and systemic issues associated with these topics; the development of social work curriculum materials and faculty growth opportunities relevant to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression; and the experiences of individuals who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and/or two-spirit. Council on Disability and Person with Disabilities (CDPD)

This award recognizes scholarship that contributes to knowledge about disability; full participation of persons with disabilities; social, political, and economic issues related to disability and persons with disabilities; and social work education curriculum materials focused on disability and persons with disabilities. Council on the Role and Status of Women in Social Work Education (CORSW)

Commission on Global Social Work Education (CGSW)

This award honors the contribution of social work faculty members, social work students (BSW, MSW, or PhD), and organizations as partners in advancing education for international social work. The PIE Awards are given in recognition of conceptual, curricular, and programmatic innovations in education for international social work. Click here for more information
