The 2018 Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Annual Conference is dedicated to the advancement of social work research. The Council on Social Work Education’s Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) is pleased to announce 10 Doctoral Fellows will be presenting their research at SSWR from January 11-14, 2018 in Washington, DC.

The 5-year China Collaborative (2012–2017) has concluded, and a final report is now available for review. The Collaborative collected input from the Council on Social Work Education’s Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education and the International Association of Schools of Social Work, with consultation from the China Association of Social Work Education. These three organizations oversaw the development of seven regional partnerships in China and guided the Collaborative in its work.


CSWE’s Annual Report highlights the activities and accomplishments of the organization for a complete fiscal year. The 2016–2017 Annual Report is now available online and shows key indicators in the areas of social work programs, membership, professional development, leadership, centers and initiatives, and administration.

The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The New York Community Trust (NYCT), supporting third-cycle efforts in a Policy Practice in Field Education initiative to improve the capacity of social workers to address policy issues. Grant funds for cycles 1 and 2 of this initiative were awarded to CSWE in 2015. Read more.

The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has announced the 2017 award recipients of the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) program. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is very pleased to share that of the 136 programs receiving grant money, 58 support social work programs. Read more.


The Social Work Educator Community has responded with an overwhelming desire to offer support to our colleagues in Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria.
