The Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE’s) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) is pleased to announce the fourth Now is the Time: MFP-Youth Master’s Student Cohort. The fellowship for advanced social work master’s students is funded by a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The fellowship offers financial and other supports to direct-practice focused students who are committed to providing mental health services to at-risk children, adolescents, and young adults aged 16–25 in underserved minority communities. The National Nominating Committee is seeking nominations of qualified candidates to serve as chair-elect for CSWE’s Board of Directors. The chair-elect serves as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for 1 year during the current chair’s final year, and then begins a 3-year term as chair the following year. As the Global Observatory (or data clearinghouse) for the North American and Caribbean Region, the Council on Social Work Education collects resources in support of the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development. We are gathering information regarding the third Global Agenda theme, Community and Environmental Sustainability. We would appreciate your help in accomplishing this task.


This year's MFP doctoral cohort includes 8 new fellows joining 16 returning fellows. 


To celebrate 5 years of fruitful partnership, the China Collaborative collaborators met in Beijing, China, June 24–25 to review achievements and look ahead to potential opportunities. The conference, titled China-U.S. Conference on Social Work Collaboration in Education, Theories and Practice, featured an overview of the collaborative’s history, reports from each of the seven partnerships, findings from the external evaluation, and thematic reports related to social work education and research.
