CSWE has long supported efforts to help Americans exercise their right to vote in elections. With the 2020 presidential election just 10 weeks away, CSWE supports the Voting Is Social Work campaign and its resources, which can help social workers, students, and educators register as many people as possible to vote in this year’s and future elections.

“Your vote is precious. Almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have to create a more perfect union,” said the late civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis in 2012. On November 3, just 10 weeks from now, Americans can exercise one of their most sacred rights: voting. On Election Day, millions of people, including immigrants who have fought hard for citizenship and the precious right to vote, will go to the polls. Read more

We have discussed a variety of topics affecting the social work profession during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is meaningful and enriching – but exhausting - work. It’s no surprise that self-care remains one of the most popular conversations among social workers across the globe.
