CSWE 2012 Film Festival

2012 Call for Entries

After the success of the Gero-Ed Film Festival at several Annual Program Meetings, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) has decided to broaden the scope of its annual film festival to reflect the many issues that social work educators must cover in their classrooms. Submit your film to the CSWE 2012 Film Festival, which is scheduled for CSWE’s 58th Annual Program Meeting in Washington, DC, from November 9–12, 2012. Complete your entry by Friday, June 8, 2012,to have your film considered for inclusion in the festival.

Why Should I Participate?

  • Although deserving, the best films that deal with social work issues may not receive as much attention as popular Hollywood films, depriving social work educators of films and documentaries that could enhance their teachingThe CSWE Film Festival can raise the profile of your film among educators, students, and other social work leaders.
  • By participating in the Film Festival, you can share your film with more than 3,000 potential customers and provide marketing and ordering information directly to decision makers.
  • Prior film festivals have been consistently well attended. CSWE representatives screen the films and distribute your printed materials at no extra cost beyond the submission fee. CSWE also may elect to provide clips or trailers of films selected for the Film Festival on its YouTube channel prior to the festival.
