Candidacy-Eligibility-Guidelines

Applying for Candidacy

The baccalaureate or master's social work program emails the Candidacy Eligibility Application form (including the Letter of Institional Intent) with supporting materials to the Associate Director of Accreditation Operations and Technology. The program also mails the Candidacy Eligibility Fee to CSWE's Finance Department. Once the Associate Director approves the Letter of Institutional Intent and Candidacy Eligibility Application, the program is instructed to submit a Benchmark I document. The Associate Director reviews the Benchmark I document and works with the program to make certain it has fully addressed all of the requirements of Benchmark I. After approving the Benchmark I document, the Associate Director assigns the program to an Accreditation Specialist and works with the Volunteer Coordinator to assign Commissioner Visit I. The date of Benchmark I approval determines the program’s agenda date (February, June, or October).
