The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) proudly announced today that Megan Fujita, PhD, MSW, has been hired as the executive director of accreditation. In this role, she will oversee CSWE’s Accreditation Department and support the candidacy and reaffirmation of more than 800 social work programs across the United States.

“I am excited to join CSWE’s team and help programs, faculty, and administrators meet standards to provide innovative and comprehensive education for tomorrow’s social workers. I am a social worker at heart and believe CSWE’s policies and standards can help prepare social workers to identify strengths and tackle the challenges facing our communities today and tomorrow,” Fujita said.

Before joining CSWE in this role, Fujita was the assistant dean of assessment and evaluation at the George Washington University School of Nursing. “Megan brings a wealth of experience in accreditation to our team, and we welcome her leadership and data-driven approach to CSWE’s work, especially as we develop our 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. Megan knows social work accreditation inside and out, having been a member of our accreditation team, and she also has overseen accreditation activities for other practice degrees,” said CSWE President and CEO Darla Spence Coffey, PhD, MSW.
