CSWE members have long supported expanding mentorship opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. The CSWE Mentorship Lab will support and cultivate faculty talent for advancement in academia and student capacity to thrive in the workforce. 

The Lab is a national context-relevant, culturally based, and multi-dimensional initiative that facilitates a space for faculty to gather, collaborate, and support each other in professional development and in effectively mentoring students in their research, preparation for graduate school, and career. Lab development began in late 2026 and plans to launch in October 2027.

The CSWE Annual Fund provides ongoing support and resources for student and faculty scholarship and research, CSWE’s Annual Conference, professional development, and other important activities and needs.

Contributions to CSWE’s Leadership Development Fund will revive and sustain leadership training through the Harvard Management Development Program (Harvard MDP) and the Higher Education Resource Center (HERS) programs—positioning new leaders for the profession’s future. Additionally, we anticipate the fund will support CSWE’s own training on management and leadership. 

The Harvard MDP is a five-day program held on campus in Cambridge, MA, to help higher education managers acquire the knowledge and insight needed to think more strategically, balance competing demands, and engage in more forward-thinking leadership. This is a cost-sharing initiative between CSWE and a recipient’s institution. 

HERS is a leadership development program for higher education professionals to fill the leadership pipeline. HERS works to create and sustain a diverse community of women and gender-diverse leaders who serve as bold agents of inclusive and equitable change for higher education. This is a cost-sharing initiative between CSWE and a recipient’s institution.

The President’s Excellence Fund is a flexible, high-impact fund that enables CSWE’s leadership to respond to emerging opportunities, convene thought-leaders, and invest in initiatives that advance the organization’s mission in real time. Building this fund is both a strategic and symbolic priority cementing CSWE's role as an innovative organization with the resources and foresight to lead. 

The Carl A. Scott Memorial Fund was developed to continue the legacy of equity and social justice in social work through building knowledge and furthering the well-being of individuals and their communities.

Contributions to the Katherine A. Kendall Fund are used to foster interaction with the global social work community and to formulate projects designed to further our global awareness and vision for social work education and practice.

The Hokenstad International Lecture was launched in 2007 through an endowment from M.C. “Terry” Hokenstad. It was developed to enhance and complement the work of the Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work and the work of CSWE's Commission on Global Social Work Education.
