CSWE's 72nd Annual Conference returns to Atlanta's Marriott Marquis

This 1-hour webinar, presented by members of the National Deans and Directors of Social Work Admissions (NDDSWA), will discuss current challenges and opportunities impacting graduate social work recruitment and provide examples of new strategies, policies, and tactics that can be implemented to strengthen enrollment.

Social workers face growing pressure to adopt generative artificial intelligence platforms and to use GAI in their teaching. Often these pressures are not accompanied by the time and strategy to clarify what problems AI should solve or how new tools align with social work values. In this talk we will explore Gen AI from the perspective of hype, harm and hope, considering how GAI should be used in social work practice and how to focus on attention from specific products to what AI can actually do. The presentation aims to introduce accountable AI integration as a component of  professional social work practice. Practical implications for social workers, social work students and social work educators will be discussed, as well as guiding questions to consider prior to an AI adoption. 

CSWE's Department of Social Work Accreditation (DOSWA) is pleased to offer this 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS) pre-candidacy & candidacy accreditation training for social work educators. 

Purpose | This training prepares pre-candidate and candidate baccalaureate and master’s social work programs for each benchmark in the candidacy process, including reviews by the Board of Accreditation (BOA), and continuous compliance under the 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).

Objectives: This training will enable programs to:

» Understand and navigate accreditation processes.
» Learn and apply the 2022 EPAS within the program’s unique context.
» Understand fundamentals of scheduling and hosting a candidacy visit. 
» Gain awareness of and encourage engagement with CSWE accreditation services.
» Promote confidence in the accreditation process for continuous improvement.

This hybrid training model consists of two components:

» Self-paced online learning modules via the CSWE Learning Academy 
» Live drop-in question and answer (Q&A) sessions via Zoom

Gain insights on candidacy benchmarks, reaffirmation process, and maintaining continuous compliance under the 2022 EPAS.

This webinar explores integrating environmental justice (EJ) and ecosocial work skills into social work practicum education across micro, macro, and interdisciplinary settings. Participants will examine potential EJ placements and review strategies to embed EJ in traditional practicum settings, agency and workforce considerations, and future-oriented approaches that prepare social workers for emerging environmental and social challenges.
