CSWE Debuts Latest Annual Survey, Report
Before 2025 draws to a close, CSWE has released its latest Annual Survey of Social Work Programs, and its organizational Annual Report.
2023–2024 Annual Statistics on Social Work Education in the United States
CSWE’s Annual Survey of Social Work Programs collects essential data on trends, challenges, and innovations in social work education across the United States. Completed in collaboration with CSWE member programs, these reports offer timely insights into enrollment, student and faculty demographics, curriculum changes, field placements, and more. They are a valuable resource for faculty, program leaders, researchers, and policymakers seeking to understand and strengthen social work education.The 2023-2024 edition includes comprehensive and current information on the state of social work education and is used to inform policy decisions, identify issues and trends, and assist in social work education research. The summary report provides a broad picture of social work programs and their offerings, including:
- Students and graduates at all program levels
- Enrollment numbers
- Degree conferral rates
- Graduate loan debt information
- Faculty information
Data collection for the 2023-2024 Annual Survey took place between March 2024 and June 2024. The Annual Survey was administered by program level in two parts. Part I consists of student enrollment, graduation, and programmatic data, and Part II consists of a Faculty Survey.

CSWE 2024-2025 Annual Report
Each CSWE Annual Report covers highlights of the organization's activities for a complete fiscal year (which runs from July 1 of one year to June 30 of the next). Prepared by a staff team and published through the CSWE division of communications and membership, the report serves to inform members and the public regarding important initiatives, program updates, and other news for the year just completed.
CSWE President and CEO Dr. Halaevalu Vakalahi characterized 2024-2025 as “a wonderful year of incubating ideas.” “Hope met strategy and affirmed our resolve to be One CSWE,” Vakalahi said. “We reinforced our focus on organizational sustainability through improved efficiency, smart growth, and investment in comprehensive plans linked to our needs and functions. We increased visibility and representation through stronger interprofessional partnerships and engagement with multiple disciplines and entities in solidarity.”
