Deja Andrews, MSW

Deja Andrews is the Assistant Director of the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) at the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). In this role, she supports the program's day-to-day operations by developing and implementing processes that enhance the experience and success of MSW and doctoral CSWE MFP Fellows. Since joining the CSWE MFP team in 2023, Deja has had the privilege of supporting multiple cohorts of fellows dedicated to advancing behavioral health and addressing the mental health and substance use needs of communities across the country. She finds it especially rewarding to help cultivate the next generation of social work leaders committed to expanding access to high-quality, culturally responsive behavioral health services.

Prior to joining CSWE, Deja served as a harm reduction specialist at the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod and as a clinical mental health intern at Child & Family Services. Her professional experience spans social-emotional learning, mental health, and healthcare settings. She is committed to advancing equitable education and healthcare systems that prioritize diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership.

Deja earned her Master of Social Work degree in 2022 from Bridgewater State University and her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2020 from Salem State University. She is grateful for the strong educational foundation these universities provided and is committed to carrying that excellence forward by supporting students and advancing the social work profession.
