Accreditation Specialist

Mayasah Thomas serves as an Accreditation Specialist, providing accreditation services to social work education programs, the Board of Accreditation (BOA), and the public via consultation, training, resource sharing, and referral. Prior to joining CSWE, she worked as the Operation Manager for Fairfax County Government federally funded Head Start Program. Mayasah has over 20 years of social work practice experience, including recent roles in child welfare (Child Protective Services, foster care) and licensing Child Care Centers in the Northern Virginia area.

Mayasah’s expertise includes operations management, service design and delivery, compliance, leadership, and volunteerism. She holds a BSW from Bennett College (NC) and a MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University (VA). Mayasah is committed to supporting opportunities and empowerment for women and girls. Away from work, Mayasah enjoys spending time with her two daughters, husband of 16 years, and traveling.
