Renise "Nisi" La‘a is a highly dedicated Certified Social Worker (CSW) in the state of Utah and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Virginia. As a Mental Health Therapist, she is committed to delivering culturally competent, trauma-informed care to diverse and underserved populations. Nisi is devoted to expanding her impact and serving as a bridge between community health and mental health services.
Nisi’s professional experience spans both clinical practice and high-intensity acute care. As a Mental Health Therapist at CLD3 Counseling, she works with clients navigating complex challenges, including domestic violence, substance use, and court-ordered or DCFS-involved cases. In her role as an ED/Acute Social Worker at Intermountain Health, she provides crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, and bereavement support, collaborating across disciplines to ensure safe and compassionate patient care transitions.
Deeply committed to public health and equity, Nisi actively addresses the social determinants of health through advocacy and outreach. As a former Community Health Coordinator for CommonSpirit Health Holy Cross Hospital, she led initiatives targeting food insecurity and community wellness. Her prior work with Pacific Island Knowledge 2 Action Resources (PIK2AR) included managing COVID-19 outreach and serving as a Case Manager and Victim Advocate, supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with safety planning and culturally responsive care.
Nisi’s holistic approach to healing is supported by multiple specialized certifications. She is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and a Certified Auricular Acu-Technician, trained in the five-point AcuDetox protocol to support emotional regulation and recovery. She is also a recipient of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Minority Fellowship, recognizing her leadership and dedication to advancing behavioral health outcomes within minority communities.
