CSWE Press, the publishing division of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), announced that three new publications are now available at CSWE.org.
As technology fundamentally transforms social work practice, we must prepare the next generation of social workers to navigate this digital landscape competently and ethically.
CSWE’s Commission on Educational Policy (COEP) Task Force on Technology was convened in 2024 to advise on these critical areas and provide recommendations for the 2029 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS). Their findings are now available in the Commission on Educational Policy Task Force on Technology Report.
This report responds to the intersection of technology and social work education, addressing the essential knowledge and skills social workers need in the digital age, how technology is changing methods of learning and practice, and the impact of technology on social work's core goals and values.

CSWE has released a new teaching resource focused on understanding antisemitism, joining Repairing Harms Done to Indigenous and Tribal Peoples.
Understanding Antisemitism: A Teaching Guide for Social Work Education was developed in response to rising incidents of antisemitism and political violence nationwide, with targets spanning the ideological spectrum.
This teaching guide supports faculty in fostering thoughtful, informed dialogue about antisemitism as part of social work’s broader commitment to human rights and social justice. It is intended to help faculty compassionately and knowledgeably bring these conversations into social work classrooms, and equips educators with context, sample assignments, classroom activities, and strategies aligned with the 2022 EPAS competencies.
Additional resources in this series are in development, including Teaching Guide on Palestine in Social Work Education, Curricular Resource on Disability-Competent Care, Curricular Resource on on Infusing Global Perspectives and Experiences Within the Curriculum, and more.
CSWE has released the second 2022 EPAS Specialized Curricular Guide on Disaster Relief Social Work. The Specialized Practice Curricular Guide for Disaster Relief Social Work is presented in two volumes to support educators in aligning disaster relief practice competencies with the 2022 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
Volume 2 covers Competencies 6 through 9, addressing engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation, and a tenth competency specifying the need for self-care and compassion in disaster relief practice.
Volume 1 will be available in early 2026 and will cover Competencies 1 through 5, focusing on professional and ethical behavior, research, policy practice, and other areas of practice in disaster contexts.
Together, these volumes offer a comprehensive framework for preparing social workers to practice effectively and ethically in disaster settings, emphasizing both immediate response and long-term recovery.
