Driven by the Affordable Care Act, primary care in behavioral health settings has been transformed to provide holistic, coordinated care of physical and mental health as well as substance abuse services. These settings require the  biopsychosocial, comprehensive, coordinated approach that is the signature of social work practice.

The case illustration in this video involves a second-year social work intern in integrative health care as it takes place in a primary care setting. The video features a multiproblem clinical situation requiring the coordinated services of the social worker, doctor, nurse, nutritionist, peer wellness specialist, and substance abuse counselor working in collaboration with the client and her family. Includes discussion between the intern and teacher and teaching points based on the case.
