MFP Mission

The purpose of the program is to reduce health disparities and improve health care outcomes of racially and ethnically diverse populations by increasing the number of culturally competent behavioral health professionals available to underserved populations with or at risk for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders in the public and private nonprofit sectors. MFP accomplishes this by providing monetary stipends, professional development training, mentorship, and other supports to racial/ethnic minority doctoral students who are completing their doctoral degrees in the field of social work.
