Krasniqi is Professor of Sociology and Gender at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Prishtina, Kosovo. Her research explores gender, nation, transitional justice, memory politics, urban studies, social history, ethnography, and oral history, with particular attention to gender dynamics in post-socialist and post-war Kosovo.
She has published extensively on these subjects, contributing numerous book chapters and articles to peer-reviewed journals. Her recent work addresses sexual citizenship and social justice, memory politics and historical storytelling, urban life at the margins of Prishtina, and the recognition and reparation of wartime sexual violence in Kosovo.
Krasniqi is co-founder of the University Program for Gender Studies and Research and serves on the Executive Board of the East European Sub-Regional Association of Schools of Social Work. She is a member of the steering committee of the Memory Studies Association’s Regional Group for South-East Europe and chairs the Board of Directors of Save the Children Kosovo. The Hokenstad International Lecture series was launched in 2007 through an endowment from M. C. “Terry” Hokenstad, a former president and long-time member of CSWE. Given during CSWE’s annual conference, the lecture series serves to enhance and complement the work of the Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education, as well as CSWE’s Commission on Global Social Work Education.

Vjollca Krasniqi to Deliver Annual Hokenstad International Lecture
The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) announced today that Vjollca Krasniqi will deliver the annual Hokenstad International Lecture later this year at the organization’s 72nd Annual Conference.Krasniqi is Professor of Sociology and Gender at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Prishtina, Kosovo.
