Vjollca Krasniqi is Professor of Sociology and Gender at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Prishtina, Kosovo. Her research explores gender, nation, transitional justice, memory politics, urban studies, social history, ethnography, and oral history, with a focus on gender dynamics in post-socialist and post-war Kosovo.

She has published extensively on these topics, contributing numerous book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. Her recent publications include: “Beyond Heteronormativity: Sexual Citizenship, the Family, and Social Justice in Kosovo” (2026); “Slow Memory and Historical Storytelling: Gender Politics in State Socialist and Post-War Kosovo” (2026); “Between transformation and marginality: Urban life and socially engaged art at the fringe of Prishtina” (co-author with Blerta Hoçia, 2025); “Gender and Transitional Justice: Recognition and Reparations of Wartime Sexual Violence in Kosovo” (2024).

She is co-founder of the University Program for Gender Studies and Research (2013-). She is member of the Executive of Board of East European sub-Regional Association of Schools of Social Work. She is member of the steering committee of Memory Studies Association Regional Group South East Europe. She is Chair of the Board of Directors of Save the Children Kosovo.
