The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is pleased to release the Curricular Guide for Environmental Justice, the newest addition to the 2015 EPAS Curricular Guide Resource Series.This guide was developed by a task force of more than 60 national environmental justice experts to assist educators with extending and enhancing environmental justice content. Created through the support of the CSWE Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice, the Curricular Guide for Environmental Justice includes generalist environmental justice competencies mapped to the 2015 Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. This comprehensive guide is easy to use and includes competency resources such as media, assignments, and activities for educators to use in the classroom.
“This curricular guide highlights the intersections of privilege and climate – and was made for this ‘moment’ when issues of climate change and systemic racism are forefront in our minds. We expect that this guide will help educators impart specialized knowledge that prepares future social workers to consider all factors involved in the health and well-being of their clients and client systems,” said CSWE President and CEO Darla Spence Coffey, PhD, MSW.
