June 2021 Educator|Resource of the Month

The Center for Diversity and Social & Economic Justice Educator|Resource is a monthly feature that highlights curricular resources and social work educators who address diversity and justice.

Traditional Wisdom, Community Dialogues, Literature, Research

This month we recap Winter–Spring 2021’s resources for multilayered approaches to teaching about interculturality, intersectionality, and racial equity.

Natural Connections: Embodying Relationship With the Environment (January)

Dr. Leah Prussia combines Indigenous wisdom and Western knowledge to heal self and the environment through embodying our relationship with all that lives.

Preparing Students to Practice in an Interconnected World (February)

The Diversity Center is developing a curriculum that will help students deepen their understanding of global interconnectedness.

Advancing Intersectionality Through Art & Science (March)

Dr. Rogério M. Pinto uses drama and community dialogues to show how "diversity" alone cannot address sexism and White supremacy.

Research Methods for Racial Equity & Cultural Responsiveness (April)

Dr. Sandy Magaña addresses the relevance of conceptual frameworks, measures and data collection tools, and culturally tailored interventions.

Narratives by and About Asians and Asian Americans (May)

Intersectionality, coming of queer age, and layered cultural identity are some of the themes explored in the books in this collection.
