Social Work Month 2024
The Council on Social Work Education is helping celebrate this year's Social Work Month in March. The annual Social Work Month campaign is a time to inform the public, policymakers, legislators, and employers about how social workers help millions of people every day, helping them to overcome life’s hurdles and live to their full potential. You will find social workers everywhere in our society, including hospitals and mental health centers, federal, state, and local government, schools, community centers, corporations, and social service agencies.
This year's theme, "Empowering Social Workers: Inspiring Action, Leading Change," is a call to support social workers so that they can fulfill their mission to enhance human well-being.
For CSWE, this call also means supporting those who are teaching or studying in social work programs across the United States. Our more than 900 accredited social work programs offer the pathway to this rewarding career.
We are offering a number of programs for social work month, and our member institutions are also honoring Social Work Month with activities, some virtual, some in-person, that offer a glimpse of why social work is one of the fastest growing fields in the United States. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that by 2032, nearly 800,000 people will be working in social work.
